Hi, I'm Xiao Chang from China (or just call me Claire). I got my bachelor's degree in material physics at Northwestern Polytechnical University in China. During the undergraduate program, my interest began to grow in the ever-changing inner world of the human brain. So I decided to choose psychology as my major for the Master program. It is from there that I entered the field of neuroimaging. My major interests focus on the neural aberrance of schizophrenia patients, especially the dysconnecitivity of brain areas. I try to understand the relationship between the behavioral symptoms and their biological underpinnings. With the help of advanced in-vivo imaging techniques, our view about how the mind works has been dramatically renewed. We can gain fruitful insights from a neuroscience perspective, and use this knowledge to provide patients with better treatment. I feel quite lucky to begin my journey in this fascinating field.
